Event Details

Want to know more about how climate works and the impacts of a changing climate?

Want to initiate thinking about how we can change our ways to minimise these impacts?

You are invited to participate in a public forum focussing on climate and the marine environment, presented by leading Australian research scientists in climatology, ecology and social science. Presentations will be followed by a question and answer time.

Topics covered will include:

  • Associate Professor Neil Holbrook - making sense of climate change and uncertainty (IPCC)
  • Dr Gretta Pecl - impacts to marine biodiversity and living marine resources
  • Professor Tim Smith - marine and coastal adaptation

This event is open to members of the public - it will be of interest to anyone with a passion for the marine environment, and may be of particular interest to those working in areas such as marine tourism and conservation, fisheries, or aquaculture.

The event will be held in a relaxed atmosphere, followed by nibbles and refreshments.

There are a limited number of spaces, so please register ASAP, and prior to 2pm Sunday 4 September 2011.
